Thanks Joe! You are right, they kick up a fight for sure. I try to land them as fast as possible so they don't tire out too badly.

There's no size limit here, but I've always released anything under 18"...the last 19.5" I caught I released because it was just before spawn...and she was fat with eggs.
The invasive chain pickerel are already putting enough pressure on the smallmouth bass population, so I kinda feel better about releasing them all tbh...

I do a lot of striped bass fishing (sea bass)...and the keeper size limit is 27" so my freezer is always full of fish...

Thanks bro...yes sir...gotta love their never give up, never give in attitude...the explosive fight is what makes me love fishing them. Shad are pound for pound the strongest, but bass are so dynamic...love the way they breach the water
