Here's a couple of homemade jobbies that use solid rubber bands. The smaller one uses 4mm rubber and the bigger one uses 5mm.

I bought some solid 4mm a couple of years ago from Aliexpress and tried double looped but it didn't work so well for one reason or another, then I discovered the easy way was to just make one big loop and it works really well. Very easy to quickly change bands so I can always have a couple of spares along and I find the solid rubber holds up very well, much longer than my flats or tubes.

They seem to be more suited for slightly heavier ammo than what I use with my flats. For flat bands I generally like 8-9.5 but these solid bands seem happy with 10-12mm.

I actually tried using the bigger one with the pinky ring as a slingbow using a long band and it sort of worked OK but I couldn't get more than about 15 pounds pull out of it. Could be used in a pinch for fishing maybe. But I've got bows for flinging arrows so it's more use as a slingshot.

Hey, what is the solid tubing called specifically? Is solid rubber fishing line the magic phrase?? I'm getting all kinds of stuff pop up that lists silicone and other specs, even though I searched for rubber. I want to make sure I find the correct product. Thanks!
