A photo is worth a 1000 words! The SPS Bandelero. The SPS Performance. The SPS 'original butchered' Performance once owned by Randy Knapp.

Steel cores are dense and change the way a slingshot vibrates. I feel it and like it. It fits like the designer knows something about slingin'. The finish is what I like!

Any thought on the mark on the heel of the handle? Is it Roman Numeral? Makers Mark? Tool Slip? Still dig it. It has a blue micarta liner, just feels tough as nails!

I laid the LBS next to the SPS. I'm just curious about fork widths and why I shoot this width better than others.

Thanks SPS Performance!! MM

All Stunning! Nice haul Mojave! When Jim first started making his metal core slingshots, his original was the EPS (Element Pocket Shooter). It is a smaller version of the SPS. I have the first production edition ( #1 ) of that great little frame. I am surprised that with the trend to smaller frames , Jim never went back to producing the EPS. I know we talked about it. Maybe it's in his future plans. Sorry about jumping off thread a bit. Just figured I'd mention it being such a good frame.

The EPS was actually larger than the SPS and was an over the top flat band Shooter.

Man, I didn't realize the EPS was bigger. I never actually put them up against each other as in a size comparison. I don't have an SPS (believe it?). I was just going on the SPS's that i did shoot. Oh well, that's why he didn't continue with the EPS. Thanks CW for the clarification.

Lord above .... Those are nice, MM!!

Now tell us, is it number 9 or number 11 ? :naughty:
But seriously. Couldn't tell you. Oddly it looks 'correct' as an Eleven. My wife is Scottish and can't say the word Eleven, so that seems like a logical direction to take. However GreatGpa Forrest was a 3-War half-German veteran who was a serious badman for the US Army. He liked to say 'Nein!!' alot to GGma. I suppose I'll let the sling decide its own course! MM

So is it possible that this sling that WAS scaled with Green Vulcanized Scales was an EPS?

No the EPS never had tube holes or slots. And Jim never made an EPS with rubber scales. And the EPS had an Aluminum core that was thicker.

Yikes. Yup. Not paying attention. Your EPS is front and center. Perhaps I am trying to discover why the overall size of the Vuclanized SPS was smaller, or perhaps why the Birch became bigger? Well....really doesn't matter until the fat pigeon sings eh?

Hey Chris, that's a real handsome one. Mine is carved from Kentucky Coffee Bean. Great little (regular size :) ) shooter!
