We build big electrical control enclosures at work, and occasionally they have VFD's and other components that put off enough heat, that side mounted A/C units are needed to keep them cool.
Those A/C units come in large crates that usually get trashed before I can get them, but lucked up today and grabbed one that is going to become a super large catch box.

It fills up the back of my F150, but should make a really nice one that I can fit several nice targets across the opening.......will update the post as I get time to do more on it.
The bottom is basically a smallish pallet with wooden frame / surround, that I'll sheath in plywood, mount some of those plastic file trays to the sides to hold paper targets, maybe wire inside an led strip or led rope lights.

What do y'all think....too big....not big enough (?), lol

Thats going to be an awesome catch box. Cant wait for it to be done. pretty truck also. I think your garage is cleaner than my house.
Thanks brother, hoping it works well, and LOVE my truck.....think I'm really gonna like the depth of it, to keep bounce outs to a minimum, as I'm having to pick up quite a few PCs of ammo off the basement floor now with my current set up......pardon the crappy accuracy

Finally got enough dry weather to take the truck down in my backyard to unload this beast, got it wheeled into the basement and set beside my current catch box....good bit bigger.

Now I'll just have to finish it up as I have time to, and try to make it the best I can.

I think I'm going to add legs to it, to raise it up a bit, to where the center of the box is more in line with my POA

Oh I cant weight. You might have enough room under it for storage. Sling shots waiting to dry, targets, materials. The possibilities are endless!
We are on the same wavelength Andrew, lol.....exactly what I was thinking, maybe adding a drawer to store stuff....definitely room for it

One of the best an maybe easiest concepts I found is created by Flederratte. He uses a aluminum sheet with a small slot as guiding and needles for sorting. I find this quit smart. I just started shooting and only have about 250 8mm steel balls (count dropping every time I go out ) so I didn't have to build a system myself, but when the time has come, I will document it.

My idea for a sorting catch box would be a angled ground board wich directs the balls into the sorting mechanism and under it I would place plastic boxes or something, that's a little bit more aesthetic than old buckets
this giant box offers so many possibilities! Would love to build something out of it myself
