I've been pinching for years. It's always been my preferred hold. In the picture on the right, the tip of your index finger is in peril. I think you need a frame big enough to accommodate a pinch with large paws. 1/2 inch wider would probably do ya- Pinching small frames has always been problematic for me, there's just too much digit left dangling.
