At my spot, it's 63° and there is no breeze, it's 6:25 am, it is just starting to lighten up.

I'm shooting the .75mm Precise with 3/8" steel and as you would expect, they are rockets.

I now changed the tape bridge between the forks to a 1 inch wide piece of bike inner tubing stretched between the forks and it is working very well, it is also very quiet.

After shooting the Precise, I switched to the BSB white (both cut 23mmx18mmx190mm Long)--- this stuff has a solid wall and those 3/8" steelies are just smoke as they leave my Zippy sling. Even though I did not chronograph the Precise or BSB today, the BSB seems faster, but at a cost of a stouter pull and more of a wall.....I was very happy with both and would smack Ferals with either using 3/8" steel.

On both bands I'm using a 48mm pouch with side holes to hold the ammo in place, using butchers twine and a constrictor knot for band attachment. The bands are attached to the frame using 3/4" wide hockey tape and it is holding well. I have black 1/4"id x 3/8"od tubing slid on the frame from about 1/8" above the fork to about 3/8" below the bend in the fork. Pic of Zippy with BSB flats below:

Be out tomorrow.

Took my Zippy's and started using rubber self sticking 3/4" tape for the fork attachment --- seems to work in testing but will give it a serious go this Friday morning before work.

It seems to hold well yet is pliable enough not to cut the elastic. It makes for a very clean attachment and is quick to do. I can carry a few pre-cut strips and have them in plastic for fast band replacement if needed. No need for me to carry any scissors, strings, small rubber tubing or anything else ---- very nice indeed !

Till Friday ;- )

Going out with three Zippy's, one with Precise .75, one with BSB .75 and one with TBG. The TBG is cut a bit different (25x16) others are 23x18. The TBG is reading .025 thick, others are around the high side of .029. All have small microfiber side hole pouches that are for 3/8", yet work for 7/16" also.

All are fastened to the fork using flat black 1/2" gaffers tape. I tried self sealing rubber tape and it seemed to work in testing but let loose after a bit and smacked me so hard I fell over backwards ! -- always looking for a fast and EASY attachment method but I don't want to die trying either :- )

It's Friday morning and I'm up and about with the Zippys' shooting 3/8" steel. It's 46°at 7:05 this morning.

I'm shooting TBG and the ammo is launching out the 3/8" steel pretty flat for a cold day at my cut to make up for the difference of the thickness between the old vs new TBG. This set up is shooting very nice and shooting pretty flat with the 3/8" steel and has plenty of oomph for anything I go after !

I shot the Precise and BSB today also - both have more poop then the TBG and are sending 3/8" steel out a good bit quicker, flatter and with more authority, but at more pull weight. You don't get something for nothing !

As always I have my safety glasses on, especially when I'm using a new attachment method or material.

Below is a photo of the three slings I used today with the 1/2" gaffers wrap tie on the forks. This tape held up well so far and did not cause band wear or band tearing.

It's 7am and a very cool 51° I have a Zippy with TBG and shooting 3/8" steel. Been shooting a while and the tape attachment at the fork end is working out, it is fast to put on for sure.

The TBG is pretty easy to pull yet sends the 3/8" down range pretty good, no not at 300fps, (more like 250fps+) fast enough to be doable in the 35ish yard range for accurate shooting. while giving me ~5.5fpe at the 35 - 40 yard range. As said before the Precise .75 and BSB White .75 really send this 3/8" steel smoke'n fast and that little ball hits hard, with those bands I'll get about around 7.5+ fpe at that range.

Waiting around for a Feral or two to land, and the only thing I see is is a old flea bitten orange Tabby cat, I see him snooping around and then he takes off - (most orange Tabbies are male).

It's a little after 9am and maybe I'll stay to 9:30 or so. I have some black 3/8" ID tubing coming in today to cover my Zippy handles, giving the Zippy better grip and making the sling more utilitarian looking.
‐‐--------------------
The rubber tubing arrives and I cut pieces that are 3" long for the body of the handle. All Zippies have a knob at the base of the handle so this makes assembly a bit of a pain to put on. I applied Dawn detergent to the inside of the tube and outside of the handle shaft and managed to slip it on, the handle section looks much better than the tape I had on there before.
Pics Below:

Will be going out tomorrow to give these the go --- They do feel good as this rubber wrap is thicker than the tape I had on before ! : - )

The Zippies with the rubber coated handle are very nice, that little bit of extra thickness makes the Slingshot very comfortable in my hand. I have a finger sling on it, just like I do on all the slings I shoot.

The 1/2 inch gaffer's tape that I'm using to hold the bands on the frame so far are working out very well it's a very very clean looking setup.

It's 62° and I set up the chronograph and get a velocity of 243fps with TBG shooting 3/8" not to bad at this temperature and yes those bands are cold !

I shot the BSB White .75 and there is more of a difference then I realized first, it was like I had Superman and Clark Kent in my hands. The TBG is nice and smooth and has enough zip, the BSB White .75 on the other hand is a monster. I can ALMOST! get it to my anchor and it is much louder also. Yes that ammo is MUCH faster going out at 287fps at 62° ! If I break this flat set in and could get my full draw, my velocity would have been more for sure.

Below is a pic of each sling I shot today, TBG top and BSB White bottom.
