Had no way to adjust scope with shotgun without firing off a few... which is a big no no in the middle of the city. So ordered a laser cartridge from China.

I had a laser bore-sighter for other calibers but not for 12 gauge. Now I do:

Finger Rectangle Electric blue Font Thumb

Cosmetics Font Household hardware Magenta Wood

Hand Finger Material property Nail Audio equipment

Sky Plant Tree Automotive tire Tints and shades

Automotive lighting Plant Sky Leaf Tree

It does exactly what it sez on the tin. No rude surprises.

As you can see it doesn't have an on/off switch... put the batteries in and chamber it. Take the batteries out when you are done. Brilliant.

Basically "or".

1. Food Court Ninja fantasy.

2. Killing attacking crocodile trying to ram my car, fantasy. (see thread "Crocs Away" for how crocs invaded the city).

3. Made bad guys pee in their pants (yes really). It looks intimidating to the random thug. Might as well work right too.

4. Only gun that I can use... well, I can't use it legally.. it's licensed to my brother... that can be used outside my state. It's got an "All Pakistan License", unlike my other guns. Karachi has crocs. Rest of the country has much worse. Wild boars are a serious pest up-country and my brother got invited to a hunt on a friend's farm. Friend needs all the help he can get. I am assuming he will be giving out slugs. I can't find any here... best I got right now are "double impact" rounds... I am sure they'll take out a hog, no problem, but the scope is for slugs.

The scope is generic Bushnell... it's got zoom.. not bad for a cheapo scope. I know it will probably get ruined on this shotgun. That's why most of the time, it doesn't have a scope... just a red dot sight. Whenever the shotgun comes out of the closet, I spend a considerable amount of time trying to persuade brother to lose the scope. I win most of the time.

If you do it correctly you can fire marbles out of 12 gauge shotguns with no choke I.E. cylinder bore. It functions like a full metal jacket round and looses power quick but it is handy when you can't find slugs to buy and you have a feral animal problem. Just shoot 'em close and they go down hard.

Now, when you get a chance, one shot zero.
Nice! Basically he's doing the same thing the laser is doing, only with his eyes.

I somehow always assumed that the AK-47 was the weapon of choice in Pakistan, and one that most households would have hiding in the closet.
Naw. The AK is a hick's weapon. We made a million of them in the 80s and gave them to the Afghans to get rid of the Soviets (it worked). The 80s and 90s were the Kalashnikov Era.

But today... I might have an AK if I were washing me buffalo instead of me car... but I am a city boy, not a farm boy.

Basically, we have two types of weapons... legal and illegal. The AK would almost always be illegal. No license. To make it legal, you'll have to jump through hoops and get a "Prohibited Bore License". That license costs money.

The shotgun is a better weapon than the AK, I think. It's legal. It's magazine fed, semi-auto, gas piston. The gas piston lessens the recoil compared to a regular shotgun. And it can throw metal downrange like the Wrath of Gawd has arrived.

All rifles are heavily discouraged except for .22LR and the Shotgun. Of course you can go the illegal route and get whatever you want but I'd rather not.

Pistols and revolvers? No problem. Those are fine.

Are you allowed to have handguns such as the Taurus "Judge", which is great against snakes and other pests in 410 caliber?
Yes. No problem. I've seen people buy those awful .50 caliber handguns too. Anything is legal as long as it's a pistol/revolver.

However, these rounds are used by few and are quite costly.

The pistol everyone carries (or used to carry, including myself) is the "TT".. Tokarev.... .30 caliber. Very hot little bullet. Will easily go through a bullet proof vest or an engine block. However, the new favorite gun seems to be 9mm Beretta. I have switched to the same.

when you can't find slugs to buy
I use something called a "double impact" round.

Also, one can use wax slugs. I would rather not put them through a gas piston semi-auto but that is also an option:

You could also use a laser, but whether you would get an actual zero with the laser only is hit or miss. The laser does not take into account trajectory nor coriolis effect. The only way to know exactly where the bullet will strike is to fire it.

Yes, true.

But any direction I might fire, there is a fair chance I'll nail someone or their property. AND there are cops stationed within egg throwing distance. I'll have to wait for when I can crawl out of this city. When that "when" might happen, is anyone's guess.

Until then, all I got are lasers.

also,in an open bore/sawn off 10 dimes will fit in a 12 guage shell,so if all thats available is bird shot, then its on to the dimes :)

seen those double taps, never had a chance to try them, and the Tokarev 30 was one of my favorite pistols, still kickin myself for trading it off
