Case is gone AFAIK, replaced by foreign knives under the old brand name. SOG are Taiwanese made and I have trouble distinguishing the quality from Chinese knives I have costing $2 to $3. Kershaw are Japanese made and owned. Gerber is owned by Finnish Fiskars and I believe they are mostly made in China. Some Benchmades (Gold, Blue and Black classes) are made in the USA, but most are made in Greater China.

There are good MOSTLY AMERICAN knife companies, Benchmade and Spyderco come to mind, but few actual ALL AMERICAN knives. There are however lots of ALL AMERICAN SOUNDING NAMES.

SOG spring assist knives are assembled US. Kershaw has many knives that are made in the US, check their website. I was disappointed to see Gerber, Buck, and even a knife labeled an Official US Army knife were all made in China. My Benchmade 940 is made in the US,

recently i sold these knives for slingshots in Taiwan, I found best seller - Mircotech, Emerson have most people wanted, Gerber and gravity knife was not bad but the MOD cqd auto and benchmade auto, no body even want to take a look.

They took away MPK ti but have no inerest on Randall M14 - they do not even know what's **** randall about - I was paid $ 450 for this in 1999.

My consideration over the slingshot price range shall under $ 100 , high price item is hard to make resell

i love my benchmade 550hg, never changes, in design, so you know what u get a light wieght knife that cuts like a laser. some of these knifemaker that get gimickie, spring assisted, just one more thing that can break. crkt seems to make almost comical looking knives, that look like the fell out of the predators back pocket.

Case is owned by Zippo. Was purched back from Jim Parker several years ago. By the way Boker (Bramwerk I think) is a very fine knife company which not only has knives made in Germany, but also a couple of other countries, however the topic is "Great American Knive Companies". Servotronics (Queen and several other names) is also another American company making knives. - Tex -- Still a tree brand distributer.
