Does the thickness of a slingshot affect its performance such as speed FPS? Is thicker better when it comes to wood or is it personal preference that makes the difference?

No, thickness does not make a material difference to velocity.

A thicker frame may affect how easy it is to grip. Thinner frames may have a slightly different delivery with over-the-top flatbands, but not with tubes or other flatbands.

I prefer a thick handle and a thin fork, but it's a personal preference and not a strong one at that.

I like one about 3/4 inch thick, it feels good and can fit in your pocket. -- Tex
