Went out of the house this am with my 5/16" small ball set up, but quickly came back in the house grabbed my car keys and went to work.... I'm already tired of the cold !

Had my small ball 5/16" set up ready to go. The weatherman says It might warm up a bit so I may hit the desert floor around 11:30 or so just to fling a few - )

I fired a shot out of my front office door and just about smacked a dirt clod some 50 yards away, I impressed myself ;- )

I understand. I just hate a cold hand slap! I just can't shoot in a glove so I'm powering down for the winter except for my huntin rig.
We've been blessed this year with a warm dry fall. Maybe winter will follow suit.

Went out about 9:30 with the generation two Cheapo and shot some 5/16" steel.

It was pretty cold in the 50's but I shot pretty well - those 5/16" steel ball's using pseudo 2040s went out very fast and straight at the 25-30 yard area, I was shooting pretty accurately. That little steel ball has enough poop for small pests for sure even in this cold weather.

I pulled out the chrono to see what I was getting in this cold weather and the 5/16" were zipping along at 270+fps ------ not to bad, no wonder they were shooting so flat and smacking hard ;- )

I waited around for starlings and such but nothing landed, I left shortly after, will come back tomorrow but this time with a Gen 2 Mini Cheapo using single 3050 tubes, we will see how well that does

I am understanding Wll. It's 42 degrees and 25 mile an hour winds can't really shoot in that. Not looking forward to a long Colorado winter.

I was outside shooting today in 38F temperature. There was only a very mild air movement so it didn't feel too bad. I stayed shooting for almost an hour and that was enough.

I just drank a 24 oz cup of hot chocolate, and had two packages of Ding Dongs -------- so I'm READY to go !!

Have my two Mini Cheapo's with single 3050 on them and will be shooting 5/16" steel.. I'll be leaving in a bit then coming back home to watch some football, if a don't have a sugar rush and fall to sleep :- )

If the sun is out a bit I may Chrono to see how 3050's compare to what i did yesterday shooting the same size sling ! Below is what I'm shooting today.

Just went out and shot single 3050, was getting 240fps, about 30 fps less than yesterday but still flat enough for those 25+ yards shots. The flight of the 5/16" ball was pretty flat !

Well I watch some more football and then head back out to my spot. I try to chrono but the Sun was too bright so I let that alone and go back into my hideaway to wait for Starlings and Sparrows to land on a tree that's about 20 yards away, and sure enough 3 sparrows land.

I take a shot at the middle one ----- I could just see a trace of my 5/16" ball just miss him about 3" to the right, there was all kinds of brush around him so I move up to the sparrow that is setting higher on one of the branches ----- I take careful aim, lineup the bands and let her loose ---- BAM !!!!, hit dead center, down he goes, never hit the ground as he is caught up in the branches above.

I had a great view, the sun was just right and saw him get hit ------- a center body hit, great ball flight and a perfect shot ;-)

I hop back to my Jeep, with a smile on my face ------ I'll be back next week

I can't wait for us to get back to 50 degrees! We had 40mph gusts and 28 degrees Fahrenheit. I whacked an oak in the yard, but my hands froze, lol!

Okay, you "just about (means that he missed) smacked a dirt clod", but for what/whom were you aiming??

Just kidding, after all, we need to keep those nasty dirt clods in check before they reproduce and overwhelm the environment. Give it another try, before they become sexually active.

You might want to keep in mind that cold bands react differently than warm bands. It's like the difference between "Guns and Roses" and "The Beatles".

...or something...

My C-11's arrived and I put them in a small tight paper insulated box with my re-furbished Phantoms along with 2 extra mags for each. ----- I'm set with these small BB pistols ;- ) I wish they would have come in a box, the clam shell is real crap IMHO !

Please purchase one of the best/ longest in production Crosman pistols, the 1377 (.177 cal) or the .22 cal version "American Classic". This pistol is HIGHLY ACCURATE, even if you don't add an Italian rear sight and or shoulder stock. The Crosman American Classic has a cult following, and folks mod them like crazy (Google "Crosman American Classic mods" - you'll be amazed). And, your shots won't droop as you run low of CO2, because it doesn't use CO2 (which occasionally leak anyway). Nothing to buy but the cheap pellets.

Not that I've advanced much, for I now carry in my pouch 3/8" spheres, though there are multitudes of them...
