Good job sir. I hope Nathan from SimpleShot is looking at your mod.
I'm not an engineer but I do know that the clips don't need to be that thick. In reality the thickness does not need to be any thicker than the diameter of the screw that holds it on. No more strain than there is on the clip it wouldn't have to be that thick. After all if a piece of rubber with a few wraps around the forks holds the bands on, I'm sure the modified clip is more than sufficient to hold as well.

I received my new torque slingshot yesterday. Today I milled the flip clips down with my milling machine, they look much better, all I need to do now is paint them. The size of these things are an over kill.
My first thought was that of why they were so bulky. Needless to say I also thought of how awesome they are. Imagine they have a more slimline clip coming. Do you have any videos of your milling machine?

I don't have a video of the mill, basically it's a heavy duty drill press with a end mill bit and a two way cross slide vice on a cast iron base.
