I hope everyone is having a great first day of 2020!!! I want to share with you guys this amazing little red oak frame Chris sent me.
As you all know Chris is an AMAZING carver, and this is no exception. This couldn't be more perfect. Finally got a chance to do some shooting today and it is just perfect. Thank you so much my friend. This little beauty will be shot and cherished for a lifetime. Sleeve Tie Font Collar Electric blue

I love the finish you have on that Chris.....do you mind if I ask what you used to get that color?

I did the ebonising process on that red oak frame, but I didn't add the tea beforehand. So the iron just reacted with the natural tannin In the wood. This one gave a greenish color. Ya just never truly know how it'll react until you do it.

Yep, true but that turned out fantastic.

I did some ebonized bands on the flute I'm building for Joey J5 on some Curly Maple and it had a greenish hue to it as well, and before I did that , I inlaid Turquoise dots inside the banding
