I am an avid picklefork shooter using flatbands. Over time I have watched many youtube videos featuring pickleforks and have noticed a tubular band that is made up of tubes that are protected by a larger tube at the tie on spot. Perhaps someone can tell me the name of that particular type of setup and where I might purchase that band. FYI I sent an email to Simple-Shot asking about the possibility of them coming out with a picklefork. Response was they are pretty excited about 2021 - thought I'd pass that on.

Thanks,

Rich

I think the most important thing when it comes to the tubes and the pickle fork is getting tubes to match your ammo size. I don't shoot pickle fork but I do shoot tubes over a normal slingshot frame and have found if the frame is smooth the tubes don't get damaged or rubbed raw from regular shooting. The protectors are nice but I think the purpose of those is to have the tube stand out away from the frame of the slingshot for faster speed shooting.

Cheers

Early on when I was first starting out shooting pfs, I made tube protectors by sandwiching a small piece of Sterling #107 office band between the fork and the tube. The 107 was just long enough to reach the back edge of the fork when folded back. Hope that makes sense? I didn't stick with pfs then so didn't use it much, but I remember it seemed to work well and the poor results were 100% on me! May revisit the idea now that I can shoot them well enough to know if it works or not.

I did the same thing with leather. Less drag and wear IMO.
