All original Todd. Did the dogbone slot locks come with it? A lot of those vintage slingshots came with huge pouches. Good pick-up Bud!

Had one of those, carried it and used it while deer hunting, to run off unwanted critters, used big ol square nuts an marbles, used it for ten yr or so, lost track of it 15 or so yr back, Friend worked at Barnett company, started getting Barnett slingshots and crossbows then, now lost track of them, liked the Victor tho.

Nope. No dogbone locks but the ammo cover is still intact and functioning.
Hey Bud, If you really want to "go Gary "on that frame and bring it up to total collectability, find a thin piece of yellow plastic and carve your own dogbone band locks. Totally over the top but hell that's what I do!

I already have some thick red band to use. I would be thankful to see a pic of the dogbone locks so I can see the shape and size. Please.

Here's a picture of the yellow dog bones in use. I can't go to the storage unit and dig out my own Victor 20 because of car issues. This should give you a general idea. They also used metal dogbones in the very early models-or maybe it was the later models. Not sure on that. The thick rubber you have actually would be more secure.

Right now, I'm in the start-up phase of a small archery products manufacturing co. I'm making molds for rubber parts. Later, probably in early winter, I'd like to make a mold using the original dog bones that came with my Model 20. I'd pour plastic to make the bones in yellow and bone, the two colors of this slingshot. I'm thinking of making them slightly thicker than the originals, as I notice one of my bones is a bit bent from the pressure on it. Maybe 1/16" thicker would work great? If I make them, I plan to sell them for a pittance, just enough to slowly recoup the cost of the plastic plus shipping. It would be more of a service to Model 20 owners, as I think the slingshot is at its best with the bones. I had no luck at all with the cut down nails that were on it when I bought it. The person who owned mine probably forgot he had the bones stored in the handle or he didn't want to lose them?

Flatband, for some reason I thought my victor came with metal dog bones, is such a thing possible or is my memory going again? Of course I put them somewhere safe and can't find them now.

Not Flatband, but yes, some had metal dog bones. Flatband can probably set the record straight, but I have a theory the plastic dog bones predate the metal ones. One of my plastic bones developed a slight bend. Strength could have been a reason to switch to metal. Of course, I might be wrong.

Yeah Scott, Frisky is right on about the metal dogbones. I believe the plastic ones came first too. I have a Victor 20 complete still in a sealed display bag and it has the plastic bones and its from the early 60's. BTW Scott, check the ammo chamber of your 20. Some people would put the ones in there for storage when not using.
