Today the weather is 43 and sunny here in Colorado. With me starting chemo again next week I wanted to get out and really enjoy nature before I'm stuck inside and struggling to make a 10 minute walk around the block.
Went to the local park where there is a stretch of forest in between a railroad track and walking path. The only way to get to the stretcher Forest is to wade through the creek, so I felt comfortable shooting my slingshot there since I assumed no one would want to cross through that Creek when it's as cold as it is. Put my flip-flops in the backpack rolled up my pants and crossed the creek. I spent a couple hours walking through the woods and shooting stray leaves out of the trees and my silicone 50 mm spinner. So nice to be out in nature with the sun shining on you and bare feet in the dirt as I explored this Forest and got to shoot my slingshot!!
I took my slingshot with 3050 tubes on it and with the temperature being so low 8 mm was pretty slow and I had to aim up a bit. I brought ¼" ammo as well which shot fast with the 3050 tubes and the cold weather.
I also got to practice shooting up into the trees and down a steep incline which I haven't been able to do either in the city in my backyard. Honestly the shooting down I was dead on first try but shooting up into the trees took a bit of getting used to the aiming. But I got it figured out and had a fun time shooting up into the trees at stray leaves still in the branches. I found a few great spots by the creek where there was soft sand and Sun directly on me and I could put my spinner up and dig my feet into the warm sand and have some fun shooting in nature.
This is going to be my new spot as long as the weather holds up in the 40s cuz I definitely needed that release and break from my life right now.
I almost forgot the best part... I forgot my cell phone at home so it was just me and the creek and the trees for a little bit.!
So thankful for this amazing day!
Cheers
