For a long time now I've been fascinated with g10 and always fancied making something out of it but I was always under the impression it was very hard to work with and needed "better" than average tools and cutters ie band saws, routers ect, after buying a couple g10 sheets and not being able any more tools I thought I'd give it a crack with only my dremil and some wet and dry paper I had left over. So as an experiment I thought I'd make a little shooter, nothing fancy to experiment with the g10 to see how far I could go with my limited tools for this material so below are some pics of my little build. I couldn't afford any decent bonding stuff so I bought a pack of 2 part epoxy from the pound shop and wow this stuff really stuck. Onto bigger projects now I think :)
Materials: x2 5mm g10 scales
2mm abs core
X4 2mm carbon fibre pins
Tools used: dremil, x1 dremil cutting disc, x2 80grit dremil sanding drums, clamps, 80grit sheet sandpaper and steel wool to finish
It's fair to say I'm no mastercraftsman but I'm fair proud of this one

Cheers

That’s awesome. Was the G10 as hard to work with as you expected?
