It's commonplace for new shooters to initially overfocus on power. I did too at first.
I rapidly learned that experienced shooters seek a bandset, sling and shooting form combo that gives them the greatest level of consistent accuracy, and that power is an optional nicety in that equation that is good only as long as it doesnt interfere with accuracy.
Then again, I'm a target shooter, whereas some people are happy just being able to shred stuff. Nothing wrong with that.
