I've been a looped tube shooter for probably 5 years now. 20/40s probably always will be. They shoot Accurate for me , last forever and can change sets on my SPS's in a few seconds. I shoot distances at about 33 to 40 feet. Shoot 3/8 and 7/16 Steel. Have tried many types of bands and tapers but always go back to my 20/40s they just work for me. So why change.

I am enjoying trying to figure out the answer to that question. I have been shooting everything I can get my hands on. I seem to be leaning to the flat bands I enjoy making my own bands and trying different tapers. I seem to like the sumeike .55 with 1/2' to 3/8" taper it really seems to send a 5/16" steel zipping to the target without any drop at 30 feet, light draw and no hand slap. I use a small mongol warrior pouch. That is my favorite so far. But I will keep playing.

I like shooting Alliance Sterling 117b office bands on my ringshooters. No cutting, no tie at the pouch or the fork. It takes about 15 seconds to make a bandset. They will shoot 3/8" steel 190 fps and 5/16" steel 240 fps.

A lot of people try 117bs and get disappointed. The Alliance Sterling bands have a much higher latex content than those sold at Walmart (Alliance Advantage) or the big office supply stores.

I have tried all the available elastics... I like Usopp .55mm straight cut 1/2" to 5/8" flatbands or the same in TBG.

I do like 1632 single tubes and all my sets have Roma Tabs and hardware from big box stores.

My ammo is 8mm(5/16") steels mostly.

Mostly tubes for durability. Usually looped 2040's or single 1745's with 5/8" marbles

Sometimes rubber bands or department store exercise bands for availability.

Amber Latex flats .030"thick and Theraband Black exercise flat bands in different cuts for different applications.

I like the amber for regular plinking and target work and when I really want to kick the speed up for some fun ,I use folded tapered Thera black.

I like the easy draw on both types, the speed, and the options for different cuts of each. Don't last anywhere near tubes but I'm comfortable with these 2 types of rubber.

( Of course it all depend on the daily Arthritis report as to whether I can shoot or not. Fun getting old ) :(

I shoot my LB-2000 band sets because!

1. I prefer flat bands.

2. They last longer than any other flat bands that I have shot (I get over 2000 shots per set without retying)

3.They are super smooth.

4. With my leather pouch it is easy to wet finger form a pouch pocket.

5. The ease of loading.

6, I can hang the ball with out it rolling out or getting off center! (with a finger formed pouch)

7. The special leather pouch is soft, strong and just feels good.

8. The bands are strong enough to shoot 1/2 inch steel and don't slap bad!

9. They are long enough to draw a ways past your ear.

10. they hold up better than pure latex to UV and Ozone!

Cocktails for me.

Usally some combo of 2.5" length loop of 2040 and whatever flats suit my needs at the time. For general purpose it's hard to beat 2040×Precise Yellow. Light draw, very good speed, very accurate, lasts way longer than flats alone with all the added benefits.
