A nice hornbeam fork here. Any opinions, criticism, suggestions?

Should I make the fork tips shorter? Should i leave all that underbark(?) Stuff in the grain? Besides sanding to 3000, which is my jam, what should i do for finishing? Is there any technique to bring out grain in this wood? Should i stain it?

I know you are a newer shooter, so this probably is not an option you would want to pursue, but I see a killer PFS in there!
I've made a few PFS forks. The forks on this one are so straight and symmetrical i feel like it would be a shame to cut them down to PFS length.

It did occur to me though. I'll have to spend some more time with it and see if i would reconsider. Thanks for the suggestion!

That's going real well.

Don't think you will lose with any of the options you mentioned. I agree with you on keeping the current for configuration.

At this point, it may be worth banding it up for some test shooting, That may help decide on a direction to finish her up.
