Redid 5 of my Cheapos and will redo the remaining few more tomorrow and post pics. These are all the original Chinese wire slings that are my main slingshots. I have more frames put away, but there is no need to dress up any more slings.

I made the 5/16" OD x 3/16" ID rubber tube that surrounds the forks a bit longer to hang over the eye of the fork (about 1/4") ----- it is more comfortable to hold. I also constrictor knot tied the finger loop end to get rid of the bulky knot.

I have a few different tubes on them ranging from looped 1636, 3050, 1842 to single 3050. If was strong enough to pull looped 2050 these wire slings could handle that no problem at all, but I can't think of a use for looped 2050 unless I was shooting 300gr ammo or above ?

I will finish these up tomorrow and then take pics ;- ) These sling are absolutely nothing fancy, except they work and work well !

Here are 8 of my original Cheapos. These wire slings are made of 7mm bent wire and are tough as heck and will handle any tubes that you may put on them. I redid the tube wraps on the forks to be a bit longer which helps in the comfort factor.

These are set up with single 3050, and looped 1636, 3050 and 1842. These slings are great for shooting ammo up to 7/16" although the slings below are set up for 5/16 and 3/8" I should be using 2040 but had 1842 on hand for the 3/8" (Thanks Henry).

All are cut to give me about 530+% elongation factor at 6+ active. As I stated before, none of these are show pieces, they just work and for me are great field slings. All have finger flings (the last one has the finger sling hidden under itself).

Here is a pic of an original Cheapo on the left, the right Cheapo is what they were selling about a year ago and since then they have changed a couple of times, NONE as good as the original. The small Cheapo is still pretty strong but not a tough as the original for sure !

The sling on the right has 5.5mm wire the one on the left is 7mm and is a bigger slingshot. All the ERGO models they have made up to now were badly designed IMHO and did not fit your hand well and were to short.

Sometimes the original is best ... DON'T OVERTHINK STUFF !!

Where did you get them from? Saw you post the gen comparisons sometime back and meant to ask then but forgot. Seem like good knock around frames.
The original Cheapos I got on eBay and Amazon. The originals are very different from what is available now. I have many wire and cast slings and their are MUCH, MUCH nicer slingshots out there for sure. I like the wire slings just because they work well, are very strong, were very cheap (I have a few of them) and can be made very, very utilitarian looking as all mine are..

I have many commercial slings also, and I have not used any of them and should really sell them. They are almost all to large to easily carry, some are to large for my hands and I could go on. The only slings that are not Chinese slings that I REALLY like are the birch laminated MULES I bought from @TODDY years ago, they are very light, can use tubes or flats and are very comfortable in my hands.

So much for my ranting;- )
