Hello slingshot people!

Is here anybody that is playing with long distance shooting? Someone I could join or who would join me and compare notes?

Myself im pretty new to this sport and mostly shoot on the garden, but I was always wondering how far you can actually hit something with the slingshot?. So when the wind drops I head outside to practice. I am slowly adding distance and my longest hit is at 210 meters, about 689 feet.

I shoot at 40x40cm, about 15x15 inch metal plate as target and full butterfly, 3/8 steel

What about you guys, how far do you shoot?

And does anyone know what is the longest hit that someone did?

Regards

Pechi

I've hit an aluminum beverage can at 100' shooting .177 bbs, and I can make contact with a utility pole that is 203' away from one of my shooting spots. By the time the bb makes it to the pole I can't really tell where it is hitting, i just hear a little "tink" and know it was a hit. I don't really shoot 3/8" ammo or larger farther than like 20 meters.

I love long shots! I have been practicing as well, full butterfly PFS is my favorite and nail my targets often. But the hathcock is a sniper and is as accurate as a rifle. Not sure about distance but its not no ten feet.
What bands are your favorite? And what speeds do you get out of them?

Most of my slingshots are self made..

50 meters tops to hit anything, rarely do that loose to much ammo.if i got a cheap bag of standard marbles, ill shoot them into the tops of trees 100 meters away.theoretically if you where on a airstrip or a big open paddock how far could 3/8 steel carry im guessing 600ft what do yous all think or know.

12 inch 1 1/2 inch wide tapered down to 2 3rd's butterfly twin bands herl a 1\2 ounce at 205 Fps around 30 foot pounds. This is with no brand bands from 5 dollar store. This was when my crony was working, now using new bands that seem to shoot faster. Favorite bands are theraband, just got a new roll so hopping to push the bar even more.

16"x16" target out 220yd? A lot of people can't do it even with a high power rifle with iron sight. Doing with slingshot could be reaching the limits allowed by physics. You will need to shoot it like a long bow. I wonder how consistent the hits could be.

My longest shot is about 30yd with 6"x6" target. No point going further as I can't tell where the shots land. I need a spotter to help me walk the shots to the target. Butterfly is beyond my level.
